 | Dividends - earned on funds from date-of-deposit to date-of-withdrawal, at
rates higher than bank "interest checking" accounts. Dividends are paid
on balances of $500 or more. |
 | No minimum balance required. |
 | No monthly charges or per check fees. Pay for the
printing of checks only. |
 | CU checks include duplicate carbonless copies produced when each
check is written, providing an immediate record of every financial
transaction. The duplicate draft and the monthly statement are proof positive of each
check issued. |
 | Reconciliation of YEFCU checking is easy since there are no more check stubs
or cancelled checks to worry about. Checks are truncated at the
pay-through bank, and the monthly statement can be used to reconcile the
account. If proof of any transaction is needed, a
photocopy of the original check can be obtained at nominal cost. |
 | YEFCU Checking makes savings more accessible - money can be transferred
from the regular share account by phone. Government regulations stipulate
that only six such transfers may be made by phone each month, but there is no
limit to the number of transfers that can be made in person by signing a
transfer slip. |
 | Overdraft Protection - the YEFCU checking account agreement allows
the Credit Union to transfer just enough money from the regular share account
to cover any checks that are not adequately funded in checking. This
service is free for the first two transfers per month, with a charge of $5 per
transfer for the 3rd through 6th overdraft each month. Drafts written
without sufficient funds in the checking account
or regular shares will be returned and charged a fee of $25 for each
overdraft. The Credit Union reserves the right to close accounts if
abused. |
