YOU
York Educational Federal Credit Union members have shown their generosity again this past Christmas season by supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves’ Toys for Tots program. You filled the huge box in our lobby three times during December with children’s gifts of all kinds. In addition, Ronald and Doris Trone and family continued their annual tradition of giving by delivering to our office 26 store bags full of toys. Our Retired Marine Corps vol-unteer had to make a special trip just to pick up their donations. A special “thank you” also goes to the Maple Press Recreation Association for their continued support of Toys for Tots.
The
Marine Corps distributed the toys they collected to various charitable
organizations here in York, who then provided the toys to families that were
in need of gifts for their children.
Also
you can find the 2004 “Fair Market Value” of your credit union IRA account(s)
by going to the IRA portion of your statement, and look for the last entry,
identified with the words “New Balance.”
We urge you to Support Our American Recruits (SOAR). We have available yellow magnetic ribbons with “Support our Troops” printed on them, or red, white and blue magnetic ribbons with the phrase “God Bless America.” A $2 or larger donation gets you the 3 ½ x 8” magnetic ribbon for your car or truck fender, trunk, or bumper. Included in the center of each magnet is a second heart-shaped magnet with the message “I Love U.S.A.” The entire donation goes to the local organization SOAR. It will help defray the cost of sending cards, letters, and “care” packages to our troops around the world. We have already sent over $460 to SOAR, and would love to send more with your assistance. To learn more about SOAR, visit their web site, www.letusSOARtogether.org. Find out how you can help tell our troops how much they mean to all of us. Donations, cards, letters, etc. can be sent to: Support Our American Recruits, Inc, PO Box 514, Emigsville, PA 17318, our call Judy Jones at 717-845-9080.

York Educational FCU’s 36th Annual Meeting will be held Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the Hellam Fire Hall. At 6:30 PM a family-style dinner including Roast Beef with stuffing and gravy, Baked Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Candied Carrots, Applesauce, beverage, and Ice Cream Sundae will be served by the Women’s Auxilliary of the Fire Hall. Following the dinner, we will have a brief business meeting, review the 2004 Annual Report, and hold elections. Terms expire for three seats on the Board of Directors. At least one of the incumbents will not be running again, so there is a vacancy to be filled. If you are interested in running for a directorship, please contact the Nominating Committee, Edith Shafer - Chairman, or Dave Baker to express your interest, and to find out about your responsibilities. Following the business meeting, relax and enjoy an evening with door prizes, draw prizes, and bingo with cash prizes. Tickets go on sale Monday, February 7th. Seating is limited, so don’t hesitate! Adult members cost $10.00, adult guests (non-members) cost $15.00, children ages 6 to 12 cost $7.00 and children under 6 are free. You’ll not find a better deal for a fun evening and great food. Come join your family of CU members for food and fellowship. Exercise your right - vote for the leaders you want to run your CU for 2005. Use the enclosed form to order your tickets.
