York Educational Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit cooperative that strives to improve the quality of life for each of its members by providing financial services, education and information which creates long term financial value for the member. We are rooted in the spirit of “People Helping People.”
Once you become a YEFCU member, you may remain a member for life — even if you are no longer employed by an employer in our field of membership. Maintain at least one share ($5) in your account at all times to enjoy all the benefits of membership. As a member, you can also invite your immediate family members to join the credit union.
Who Can Join?
YEFCU membership is open to a large number of local businesses, organizations, institutions and school districts. Find out if you are eligible to join.
How to Join YEFCU
Eligible individuals can apply for YEFCU membership online or by visiting one of our two branch locations. Accounts may be set up as single-name account or joint accounts. For joint accounts, only one account owner need be eligible for membership. As a new member you are required to deposit a minimum of $5. Submit your application securely online today!

Additional requirements:
In addition to your completed application, you’ll also need to mail or bring the following to one of our branch locations:
- A copy of your valid driver’s license or government ID
- A membership fee of $1.00
- An initial deposit of $5
Each new member must be approved by the Membership Officer or YEFCU’s Board of Directors. The value of one share in the Credit Union is $5. Once approved for membership, you are required to maintain a balance of at least one full share ($5.00)
With a minimum account balance of $5, you are eligible to use any YEFCU service. Your balance in regular shares may not be drawn below $5 as long as you have a loan, a checking account, a Share Certificate, an IRA, a club account, a VISA credit card or MasterCard debit card with the Credit Union.
